After his chartered accounting articles in South Africa Justin moved into the financial corporate world and had a fast tracked career through listed companies spanning London, Los Angeles, Dubai, and Shanghai. He has built a reputation for combining intelligence and grit with a deep understanding of both macroeconomic pressures and micro-market levers.

Justin has specialised in the financial services and banking sector and his capital markets, financial instrument and management skills stands Blackmills in strong stead to capture future growth.

Jamie Blake

Founder & Director, Blackmill Developments

Jamie Blake is the Founder and Director of Blackmill Developments, bringing with him over two decades of proven expertise across the property and design sectors. A second-generation property developer, Jamie’s career spans industrial, commercial, retail, and residential development, where he has successfully delivered projects of scale and complexity.

With 20 years’ experience in residential refurbishment, development, and interior fit-out, Jamie has built a reputation for combining commercial acumen with design-led vision. He is also a qualified, award-winning interior and furniture designer, a discipline that continues to inform his approach to creating distinctive, high-value properties.

Prior to establishing Blackmill Developments, Jamie founded and led Blakes London, a high-end bespoke kitchen and joinery company. Under his leadership, the business grew into an award-winning brand, setting benchmarks in design innovation and craftsmanship. After a successful 10-year tenure, he exited the company to return full focus to property development.

Jamie has since completed multiple residential developments across London, overseeing projects from inception through to sale, and delivering exceptional returns alongside refined, design-driven spaces. His track record reflects not only an eye for design excellence but also the strategic insight required to deliver profitable, sustainable developments in a competitive market.

At Blackmill Developments, Jamie continues to leverage this unique blend of design expertise, development experience, and entrepreneurial leadership to build properties that stand out for their quality, functionality, and enduring value.

Ross Stephenson

Consulting Architect

Ross qualified as an architect in South Africa and has over a decade of experience delivering high-end residential projects in both the UK and South Africa. His experience spans luxury homes in Cape Town’s coastal settings to bespoke residences in Surrey, giving him a broad understanding of both contemporary and traditional design.

Ross works closely with clients, consultants, builders, and fellow designers, guiding projects through every stage of the RIBA process, from initial concept to completion. His primary focus is on creating distinctive, well-crafted architecture, with a considered approach to interiors to ensure the design vision carries through seamlessly inside and out.

He also provides Principal Designer services under the Building Safety Act, supporting projects with robust safety and compliance oversight.
